Este vídeo-poema pertenece al proyecto “Extractos d'Allemande” que comenzo en enero del 2010 cuando por razones profesionales relacionadas con la fuerte crisis española tuve que desplazarme como expatriada a Alemania. Durante mi estancia allí escribí mi segundo libro, “Extractos d'Allemande”, que recoge un conjunto de poemas autobiografcos basados en mis experiencias en dicho país. El proyecto consiste en una serie de vídeo-performances inspiradas en dichos poemas. Este vídeo-performance habla de intolerancias, de límites y normas absurdas, de la robotizacion y de las connotaciones historicas de los conflictos actuales.

The film deals with the ineffable substance of dreams and meticulously attempts to understand every aspect of a reoccurring dream. This dream differs from other dreams I have had in every aspect - it contains no traces of memories or ordinary content like people, monsters, landscapes or time – nothing but this exhaustingly intense texture that somehow exceeds everything I’ve ever experienced with my senses before. It seems impossible to gain any knowledge about this phenomenon inside the dream - my senses are simply futile in this context of sleep.

A woman gyrates and flexes as if performing yoga. Her movements increase with abandon and the next moment we feel like we’ve interrupted her in some sort of private erotic act. My Way is a karaoke video clip which takes hostage of Frank Sinatra’s well-known song and creates a new narrative of male dominance, subjugation and sexual exploitation. The video’s duration is 2:42 minutes. It is played in a continuous loop.

Through scrutinizing a semi-improvised conversation/performance with a sex worker across different mediums, the initial material became unstable, leaving it open to uncomfortable and changeable interpretations of gender and objectification. The conversation was recorded, transcribed into a script and read/acted by non-professional actors on camera.

A is an international student in Japan who wears samurai costumes to show off what he thinks is cool and becoming it by being in it. One day, he meets an “Idol.” Idol is a Japanese girl who performs in a band and wears stage costumes in her daily life to mark her position in the subculture community to balance her originality and the sense of belonging. They share the need of love to affirm their real identity. This video seeks for the fragile friendship of the two lonely children through fantasy, pretentious fashion, and the reality.

The film shows young men rolling steel hub caps, removed from classic automobiles, down a staircase in an ambiguous workshop setting to the ambient soundtrack of Berry’s Maybellene (1955). The song makes explicit the link between cars and sexuality; the film suggests a space of masculinity in the haptic manipulation of the mirrored wheel trims, the constraint of the setting, and the framing of the shots.

Our characters are struggling to understand what happened in the world and just when things seem to start working out between them, they find out that they are not alone...

An abstract film about how loss can transform the way someone views everyday life. Here the fabric of the earth has changed, and black holes have become a malleable substance used to attempt to suffocate pain and thwart the flow of blood to vital organs. "Kiatsu" – sound pressure in Japanese - is a collaboration between anthropologist Rupert Cox and artist Angus Carlyle. It focuses on the last farming family living within the concrete and steel infrastructure of Japan's largest airport, Narita, where noise – of jets taxiing, taking-off and landing - exerts a constant pressure from before dawn until well after dusk. For two weeks during the sowing season and for three weeks at the harvest, Cox and Carlyle listened, watched, filmed and made audio recordings, creating a ‘soundfilm’ documenting the farmers and their environment.

“The present” is a fragment of a public performance dealing with the issues of returning home after a great trauma. Cuatro amigos viajan en coche, cuatro músicos van al estudio de grabación. Fuman y beben mientras hablan de la vida, de la suya y de la que sueñan. Sin pausa, sin fin.

Four travelling musicians, ride in a car to a recording studio. They smoke, drink and talk about life, their lives and their dreams. Non stop, no ending.

"Cockney rejects" 21'00. Steve Hines

Work consisted of two parts. Firstly the artist visited charity shops around central London collecting & purchasing discarded, unwanted artworks. He then mounted a white wall gallery exhibition of these works to give them a moment of triumph and celebration. After one week the artist locked the gallery doors and created a private, live, action for video camera. He destroyed all the artworks, to create a new installation of blank walls and a pile of broken art.

"(Sub)Version" 3'43. ReVerse Bullets

"Sub(Version)" is a visual and sonic warzone of sirens, gunshots and the pounding tension of a life dictated by government control versus the struggle for independence. Inspired by the noise-collage beat-heavy and distortion works of Public Enemy's Bomb Squad, Nine Inch Nails, and Sonic Youth, this videosong evokes the dissonance of citizens shedding the façade of complacence and middle American luxury in the face of palpable police state tension, gentrification, and shifting economies. "(Sub)Version" juxtaposes footage from Occupy Wall Street, teenage behavior educational films, late 20th Century pop films, and classic cartoons to illustrate that the enemies of one class are the enemies of all.

Alex is alone and infinite in his role, amongst bluebells in the field, quantum theories and letters from the Queen and NASA, and all the ornaments of metaphysics. By allowing Alex to play his secret Hamlet and his hidden King Lear, we explore the power of imagination and its pictorial diffusion with the empty space.

24 horas son suficientes para poner de cabeza la vida de Sigfrido, un punk de 30 añoscon complejo de Edipo. Su madre desaparece y su novia (Noemí), diez años menor que él, lo deja por una aventura romántica. Sigfrido recorre la ciudad en busca de respuestas que alivien su corazón.

24 hours are enough to change completely the life of Sigfrido, a 30 years punk with the Oedipus complex. His mother disappears and his girlfriend (Noemí), ten years younger than him, leaves him for a romantic adventure. Sigfrido runs through the city in search of answers to alleviate his heart.

I decided to recreate the scenes that seem to be projecting my unsettling emotional state and tried to walk through them. On this journey, I became a wanderer, a vagabond, and a foreigner to myself. The more I dance with a mirror with the sound of cold machines, the more I get lost in my own labyrinth.

I create machinima on Second Life mixed with Real Life’s films. I am particularly interested by movement and try to alter time by slowing down movement or repeating it. Finally, the perception of time on SL seems to be more realistic than the one on real life. Crashing is an interpretation of skating and biking movements. As Jim and I are unable to skate, Second Life becomes a place for our creativity. The end of the video is focused on skaters falling down and crashing.

A su regreso de Marsella, Etienne no solo trae consigo el olor de una infidelidad en su ropa, sino también una adicción a la neurodroga más potente que existe: el DÉJÀ VU. La obra experimenta visualmente (montaje, color, texturas, etc.) para hablar de una relación de pareja llegando a su fin, de la incapacidad comunicativa, de la dificultad de encontrar la salida de una situación insostenible y de los recuerdos como refugio.

"Yourself is a reflection of myself" 5'25. Draga Jovanovic (Canada)

In this film, one person is shown through the two different ages of her life. The first, the younger individual, is in her twenties and the other in her sixties. In the dialogue between them, they manage to exchange their experiences whilst getting an opportunity to communicate with each other. At particular moments, the reflections of one person are infiltrated by those of the other, so that one may entirely lose the feeling of which individual has started or which individual has finished expressing her thought.

This short film is an interpretation of the myth of the Genesis. Ed is alone, he spends his days to pick fruits in trees. Wanting to season his harvest, he causes an explosion. He goes sick of too many provisions then vomits them. Of its entrails is born a second robot.

Un hombre y una mujer se descubren el uno al otro, quitándose la piel como acto íntimo. Ellos son interrumpidos por dos niños que, inocentemente, asisten como testigos a la Escuela del Amor. Las figuras flotan en un espacio sin gravedad donde describen trayectorias curvas y movimientos sinuosos.

A man and a woman uncover each other, taking off their skin as an intimate act. They are interrupted by two children who attend the Love School. The figures are floating in a weightless space where they describe curve trajectories and sinuous movements, generating visual continuity.

“Walking in the mind” 5’03. Julie Nymann (United States)
There are memories that don’t seem to have any identification but only details. They mysteriously haunt me. I decided to recreate the scenes that seem to be projecting my unsettling emotional state and tried to walk through them.
On this journey, I became a wanderer, a vagabond, and a foreigner to myself. The more I dance with a mirror with the sound of cold machines,  the more I get lost in my own labyrinth.

Después de aparecer en “La semilla del Diablo”, Elmer Modlin, huyó con su familia a aun país lejano y se encerró durante treinta años en un piso oscuro.

“Dopaje español” 2’42. Jai Du (Euskadi)
Este vídeo-poema pertenece al proyecto “Extractos d’Allemande” que comenzo en enero del 2010 cuando por razones profesionales relacionadas con la fuerte crisis española tuve que desplazarme como expatriada a Alemania. Durante mi estancia allí escribí mi segundo libro, “Extractos d’Allemande”, que recoge un conjunto de poemas autobiografcos basados en mis experiencias en dicho país. El proyecto consiste en una serie de vídeo-performances inspiradas en dichos poemas. Este vídeo-performance habla de intolerancias, de límites y normas absurdas, de la robotizacion y de las connotaciones historicas de los conflictos actuales.

An eerie, black-humoured tale about Henry, the last in a long line of duck hunters. The film examines the connection between hunter and prey and obsession in the face of extinction. It posits the question ‘what would happen to someone at the tipping point; the moment where they are directly responsible for the extinction of an entire species’.

In our urban world, the system pins down people to the ground with disregard. But seen under a new angle the city becomes a new space to be rediscovered and to be reconstructed...

La Historia se recicla (4) veces, como las estaciones ... una rana, un niño africano, un metro y un mensaje SMS unidos por efectos colaterales.
A history is being repeated 4 times throughout a frog, an african child, an underground journey and finally a sms.

An abstract film about how loss can transform the way someone views everyday life. Here the fabric of the earth has changed, and black holes have become a malleable substance used to attempt to suffocate pain and thwart the flow of blood to vital organs. Time shifts and slows down to the confines of living underwater - where the liquid surface is now so dense that it is possible to pierce it with a cold, sharp needle.

“Les barbares” 4’59. Jean-Gabriel Périot (France)
If politics were to come back, it could only be from its savage and disreputable fringe. Then, a muffled rumor shall arise whence that roar is heard: “We are scum! We are barbarian!” (Alain Brossat)

In a couple’s relationship appears a quarrel because of indifference toward one another, and eventually indifference to their closest person become self indifference.
